Welcome to The Tour de Feb.
Tour de Feb aims to get people to cycle every day in February. It was inspired by Janathon but given I cycle and don't run, I thought I'd start a cycling version.
My main motivation for starting Tour de Feb is that, while I enjoy cycling, getting on the bike can sometimes be a challenge! So to ensure I actually get on my bike more regularly, at least for one month, I thought I'd start this site.
There are some rules but they are very simple:
- you must cycle every day,
- you must record how far (or how long) you cycled on the Tour de Feb website
- you must either blog or tweet about your ride
The aim isn't to ride as far as you possibly can but instead to pick a goal for the month and try to achieve it. That goal might be to cycle 100 kms a week, but it might also be to learn better bike handling skills, in which case you might only travel a few kms but spend a fair amount of time doing this. Your goal is up to you.
Instructions
- Sign up here
- when you've finished your ride add the details (time and/or distance)
- write a blog post or tweet using the hashtag #tourdefeb
I've set up a twitter account so if you add your twitter details I'll follow you.
If you want to contact me you can either email or tweet me. I will make annouchments via Twitter as well so you might to follow @TourDeFeb.
And that's about it. So sign up and start peddaling!
